Which Equipment Is Used in The Processing of Tomatoes?

In the tomato processing and production process, different equipment is usually used to process tomatoes according to different product requirements. But which equipment is used in the processing of tomatoes? Common tomato processing products include tomato sauce, canned tomatoes, tomato juice, etc. Different finished products require different equipment support.

 

1. Tomato cleaning machine

After tomatoes enter the factory, they need to be cleaned first. During the picking process, tomatoes may come into contact with soil, pesticide residues and other impurities, so cleaning is the first step to ensure food safety. The tomato cleaning machine uses water flow, spraying and other methods to thoroughly remove dirt on the surface of tomatoes to ensure that they are clean.

2. Tomato sorting machine

The quality of tomatoes varies greatly, and grading them according to different standards such as appearance, size, and maturity is a key link in the production process. The tomato grading machine can automatically classify tomatoes according to the set standards. Common grading methods are:

Grading by size: Use screens, rollers and other equipment to sort tomatoes into different grades according to diameter or weight.

Grading by color and maturity: Some graders can identify the color and maturity of tomatoes through cameras and sensors for intelligent sorting.

Graded tomatoes can enter different processing links according to different uses.

 

3. Pulping machine (for tomato paste production)

If you want to produce tomato paste, a pulping machine is an indispensable equipment. After washing and grading, tomatoes need to be pulped to make fine tomato paste. The pulping machine crushes the tomatoes, removes the skin and seeds, and extracts the tomato juice and pulp.

 

4. Dicing machine (for canned tomatoes)

When producing canned tomatoes, tomatoes need to be diced. Dicer can cut tomatoes into uniform small pieces for subsequent packaging and processing. These dicer can usually adjust the cutting size to meet the production needs of canned tomatoes of different specifications.

 

5. Tomato concentrator (for tomato juice and concentrated tomato paste)

If a factory wants to produce tomato juice or concentrated tomato paste, a tomato concentrator is an essential equipment. The tomato concentrator concentrates the tomato juice by evaporating water, which is convenient for storage and transportation.

 

6. Sterilizer (for canned tomato and tomato paste production)

Canned tomato and tomato paste need to be sterilized to ensure their safety during storage and transportation. The sterilizer sterilizes tomato products with hot water or steam to eliminate harmful microorganisms and extend the shelf life.

 

7. Filling and packaging equipment

After processing and sterilization, tomato products need to be filled and packaged. Depending on the type of product, the filling equipment used is also different.
